Shayla Pierce, Why Saying I Look “Mixed” Isn’t A Compliment (via theraceproblem)
Or the shock when folks actually find your Black ass attractive and you’re so obviously not recently mixed.
This is pure truth. I don’t know how many time I have been told that I must have somthing else in my gene pool based on my high cheekbones and beautiful eyes. As if black women can’t have those features on their own. Black women have the most variety in one race more so than any other. Look how large the continent of Africa is! I do not think men know how ridiculous they sound when they pay this sort of “back handed” compliment.
